THE CURRENT STUDY

The instrument and analysis

The data were collected between 2000 and 2002. The questionnaire is available as Appendix A. On the advice of a statisticianii, we chose the Chi-square Two-sample Test to test the statistical significance of our findings. This is a standard statistical tool to measure the degree of significance of the variation between an expected result and the actual results found in the survey, experiment, etc. We chose a significance level of .05, which means that there is a five percent or less possibility that chance played a role in the difference found.
