Professional Standards for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA)

It has been difficult to identify individual standards. However, it is recognized that with the knowledge and understanding gained from actually planning, training and implementing programs for AAC systems and Speech, Language and Communication Programs, a teaching assistant would indeed be able to demonstrate understanding and professional use of a number of the Standards.
