Imitation and mockery

Imitation and mockery express abnormal behavior. Sometimes they arise from psychological factors, and sometimes from social factors. Those afflicted with this trait are subject to disorders and disturbances that are common among patients with psychotic illness. This sometimes manifests as a result of the loss of a loved one.

Some believe that this affliction stems from a sense of darkness, and the child here seeks to eliminate or reduce the fear, distress, and agitation resulting from this feeling. Others see this as a prelude to hysterical behaviors or malingering, which carries within it elements of self-love and selfishness.

We can consider this a reaction to compensate for the shortcomings and frustrations the child experiences. It manifests itself in the form of an attempt to provoke someone's anger by publicly revealing their shortcomings. Of course, the child has other methods and approaches to this matter. However, because they are unsuccessful in their attempts to do so, they resort to incorrect and devious methods.

Their Perceptions and Feelings

These people have conflicting and contradictory feelings and emotions. Sometimes they feel inferior and helpless. To overcome this trait, they resort to any means possible. They feign foolishness, frivolity, and all manner of childish behavior. Sometimes, they pretend to be successful and superior, feeling important and courageous because they have been able to influence others, or attract them to their ways and behavior.

Based on this, these people are plagued by two feelings: the first is a sense of superiority, and the second is a sense of insecurity.

Here, we must say that even if their feelings of superiority are artificial, the purpose of this feeling is to eliminate their inferiority complex and cover up the humiliation and poverty that afflict them.

However, if we leave them to achieve success and prosperity on their own, so that their self-confidence returns, this trait will become ingrained in them, and they will continue in this manner and manner.

Purposes and Objectives

Such children constantly try to invent and invent methods of imitation and mockery, mixing different and strange ways in order to attract the attention and admiration of others. They imagine that if they engage in childish actions, behavior, and awareness, they will succeed in their work and become well-known. Based on this, they prefer to live in the world of childhood.

Sometimes, these practices are carried out for the purpose of gaining pleasure and escaping isolation and apathy. Sometimes, they are used to escape spiritual turmoil and agitation. Other times, they are used to attract the attention and interest of others or to gain fame and notoriety.

All of this indicates that the child is experiencing a void and wants to find peace and comfort from what they are suffering from. They are suffering from something internal that causes them discomfort and harm, and they always want to relieve it through imitation, mockery, and clowning, which carries a compulsive dimension to the person.

The Comprehensiveness of This

Imitating and mocking are not specific to one group over another. The prevalence of this trait in society is widespread, especially among children living in turbulent and unusual situations. This condition is present in both boys and girls, and is more pronounced in girls, especially during conflicts and fights, due to the strong emotions inherent in girls. Girls themselves are aware of their own situations in this regard, especially when they want to harm the other party, and they resort to this method.

We sometimes see this condition in young people and even adults, particularly when they are angry with others. In fact, mockery, ridicule, and clowning are manifestations of anger and hostility, because imitation and mockery significantly arouse the anger of the other party.
