Sense relations relevant to adjectives

The notion of entailment was introduced and pointed out that word senses affect the entailments that a sentence carries. Entailments are propositions that follow when a given proposition is true, just as the dog’s tail follows whenever the dog comes in (unless the dog enters backwards). If it is true that a particular person has arrived in Edinburgh, then it must be true that the person is in Edinburgh at that time and made a journey from somewhere else. Entailments are willy-nilly understood and do not have to be expressed (a great saving of time when we are communicating).
