The American psychologist Abraham Maslow talked about a man who was insisting on believing that he was a corpse despite his psychiatrist's efforts to treat him, and suddenly his doctor came up with a smart question. The doctor said to him: Is it reasonable for blood to bleed from the corpse? The patient replied to him, saying: What is this you are saying, Doctor? Of course, corpses do not bleed. Immediately, the doctor pricked the patient's finger, and a drop of blood came out of it. Astonishment appeared on the patient's face, and he shouted: Only now I am convinced that it is possible for corpses to bleed.
What does this story mean? ... This man thought he was a dead body, and he refused all kinds of treatment until he changed his belief that it was possible to bleed from any body. Therefore, it is possible to treat it, and accordingly, he accepts that he put himself under treatment.
Belief does not require that something is actually true, but all it requires is the belief that it is true. Belief is the foundation upon which we build all our actions and it is the most important step on the road to success. There is a wisdom that says: (In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can succeed)... The American writer Napoleon Hill said: (What the human mind perceives and believes can be achieved).
The American writer Robert Diltz said:
(The belief represents the largest framework for behavior, and when the belief is strong, our actions will be in line with this belief).
Richard Bandler, one of the founders of NLP said:
(Beliefs have great power, if you can change a person's beliefs, you can make them do anything).
In his book (Ten Natural Laws for Productive Time and Organizing Life), Hiram Smith said:
(Each belief has a set of laws that are programmed at a deep level in the subconscious, and on the basis of these laws a person acts).
