Apps and tools that help you sleep better

If you suffer from health problems that prevent you from sleeping well, such as: fibromyalgia, and others, you can use some tools and applications to help you sleep better.

Some of these tools and apps provide calming audio clips that help you relax and sleep well, and some are special for tracking sleep and making sure you get enough hours of sleep.

Here are some apps, tools, and devices that can help you get as comfortable as possible:

1- Solar light therapy devices:

To sleep better, sleep experts recommend getting 10 to 20 minutes of early morning sunlight each day. And if you can't go out or the weather isn't right, you can use the HappyLight device, which produces 10,000 lux, which is the recommended amount for light therapy. HappyLight can also help relieve seasonal affective disorder, jet lag and shift work.

2- White noise applications:

Listening to some calm sounds helps to relax and sleep better, so many applications have been developed that contain audio clips referred to as (white noise) to help sleep, such as: White Noise Lite, which is a free application available to users of Android phones and iPhone phones and contains a large amount of sounds to choose from. Such as: heavy rain, light rain, etc., and the White Noise Lite application continues to play audio clips even when you turn off your phone screen.

The application is available free of charge for users of Android devices in the Google Play Store, and for users of iPhones and iPads in the App Store.

3- Night mode:

Staying away from blue light emitting devices about two hours before bed helps improve sleep quality, so try to limit your phone or computer use about two hours before bed or use blue light filters to reduce exposure to blue light. You can also activate Night Shift if you are using a Mac or iPhone computer or (Dark Mode) on Android devices, or activate Night Light if you are using a Windows computer to protect your eyes.

4- Sleep tracking apps:

Try using sleep tracking apps to notice changes in the hours of sleep and try to improve it. There are a variety of sleep tracking applications available to iPhone users in the App Store, and to users of Android phones in the Google Store, in addition to some devices such as phones and smart watches that include built-in sleep tracking features, such as: Apple Watch, Samsung watches, and others.
