There are many reasons why a child feels low in self-confidence, including:
1- Excessive rebuke and reprimand whenever the child messes with something that causes anxiety and reduces his self-confidence.
2- Raising a child dependent on others, so that his mother does not leave him to eat by himself or wear his own clothes. Likewise, leaving him dependent on servants in all his affairs makes him grow up dependent on others, so that he does not develop confidence and self-reliance in him.
3- Parents comparing him with another child in order to encourage him to study, for example, often gives the opposite of what is intended, so he becomes discouraged, and he may lose confidence in himself.
4- Excessive parental control over their children paralyzes their freedom of thought.
5- Quarrels and disputes between parents give rise to a feeling of instability, which destabilizes the child's self-confidence.
6- The child’s affliction with some disabilities, such as obesity, extreme thinness, shortness, or lameness, may lead to poor self-confidence.
