Some educators, such as fathers, mothers, or teachers, resort to the method of argumentative and dialectical pressure to make their son or student submit to his criticism and blame, and ask him to acknowledge his shortcomings and that he had bad motives. They also do not listen to his statement, no matter how much the son tries to clarify his position.
Mothers and fathers imagine that this method of argumentation, dialectical discussion, and questioning motives is useful accountability and serves the educational and guidance dimension of the children!
While in reality, this method pushes the children to prepare to respond to the father’s problems and the mother’s questions that are when being held accountable and to think about fabricating excuses and justifications that interrupt the parents’ argument and weaken it! They are creative in formulating the expression to suit the image of excuse and justification. To convince his father and arouse his mother’s pity with his sometimes artificial justifications and excuses.
The effect of this method on children does not stop only at their response to the parents or the teacher! Rather, it is reflected in their social behavior as well!
Some of them excel at weaving excuses and justifications in their dealings with others. He prepares an answer for every question, a justification for every accountability, and an excuse for every rebuke, and he swears many oaths and swears upon any questioning that comes from a party that he fears or whose affection he seeks!
He breaks promises, harbors within himself justification, neglects his duties, and fabricates canned excuses ready to convince and silence the party that holds him accountable!!
Parents and educators must immediately stop this method of education. Children do not think as you think, and they do not have the ability to analyze logically, rely on arguments, or devise cunning ways to disobey your orders or neglect the performance of their duties. As you can imagine!!
And parents should avoid accusing their children’s intentions and motives of being bad and describing their thinking as malicious and demonic!
Because it is not right to indoctrinate children before the age of majority with negative and bad thoughts, according to your interpretations, because they have good and pure hearts!
Rather, you should accept their response to any question you ask them without questioning its validity, and you should not resort to argument and protest trying to prove their lies. Rather, you should make them feel safe and raise their level of self-confidence. So that they feel that by holding them accountable, you do not want to harm them or insult them. Rather, you must reassure them that you want to help them and improve their behavior.
Therefore, fathers and mothers should beware of being the reason behind their children’s rebellion and deviation!
