Al-Tabarsi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates in Al-Ihtijaj from Musa ibn Ja'far (peace be upon him) that he said:
"When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) emerged from his mother's womb, he placed his left hand upon the ground and raised his right hand toward the sky. His lips moved with the declaration of Allah's Oneness (Tawhid). A light shone forth from his mouth, through which the people of Mecca saw the palaces of Busra in Syria and its surrounding regions, the palaces of Yemen and its neighboring lands, and the white palaces of Istakhr and the areas around it.
On the night the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was born, the entire world was illuminated. The jinn, human beings, and devils were struck with alarm and said, 'A great event has occurred on the earth.'
On that night, the angels were seen ascending and descending while glorifying and sanctifying Allah. The stars trembled, and extraordinary celestial signs appeared to mark his blessed birth.
When Iblis witnessed the wonders of that night, he attempted to ascend into the heavens. He had previously occupied a station in the third heaven, and the devils used to eavesdrop on the conversations of the heavens. But when they witnessed these extraordinary signs and tried to listen again, they found themselves barred from all the heavens and were driven away by shooting stars, as a sign of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) prophethood."
