The largest breakwater in the world
The Great Breakwater in the Iraqi west port of Al-Faw, recently received a certificate from the Guinness Book of Records as the longest in the world.
The 14.5-kilometer breakwater, in the northern Arabian Gulf, aims to protect ships coming to Iraq from heavy waves, and contributes to the country's development.
This will facilitate direct vessel voyages to the new Al Faw port, which is scheduled to be finalized in 2024.
