Considering the infallibles (a.s) as role models is a vital fundamental principle in the Shia school of thought.
Certainly, if people had information about their characteristics, they would be in awe of their greatness. In the sayings of the Imams (a.s) we see an emphasis on the concept of representing Ahl Al-Bayt (a.s) in a good manner. A prime example is the advice given by Imam Al-Sadiq (a.s) to his followers, “O Shi'a! Be an ornament for us, and do not be a disgrace for us.”
There are many ways to spread the name of Ahl Al-Bayt (a.s) while being an ornament for them, but a clever way is what the charity group ‘Who is Hussain?’ is doing. They started as a small group of youths from various cultures located in London, whose pure common goal is to let the world know about Imam al-Hussain (a.s). They believe that Hussain ibn Ali (a.s) is the greatest role-model for all, regardless of gender, age, nationality, class or any other superficial factors that divide our common humanity. They see that Imam al-Hussain (a.s) cared more for the values that should unite us than for the names and titles that divide us. Therefore, they started a campaign called ‘Who is Hussain?’
There is a famous quote, “What was done for Allah’s sake grows.” This applies to this group of young followers of Ahl Al-Bayt (a.s) inspired by Imam al-Hussain (a.s), as their campaign turned into an international charity organization at a quick pace. They have helped hundreds of thousands around the globe in the name of Imam al-Hussain (a.s), which has opened the eyes of those aided and others to the Imam (a.s). Their projects include providing drinkable water, groceries, donating blood, and various other acts of kindness.
We ask Allah (s.w.t) to reward them with the greatest reward, to prolong their activities, and keep them on the path of Ahl Al-Bayt (a.s).
