Social education for youth is a vital necessity; because youth are about to become strongly connected to society and will bear certain responsibilities that must be undertaken according to the rules of Sharia, custom and deep thinking. We mention a number of controls and principles in education, including:
First: Maintaining respect: Man is a respected being before his parents, and in this context, the narrations and actions of the infallible ones, and the actions of the Messenger, combine to emphasize honoring the personalities of youth and treating them with kindness and understanding; because this brings us closer to their hearts, which facilitates the process of education and guidance by the educator.
Second: Involving them in some matters: Youth are no longer children so that they do not participate in making decisions at home and school under the pretext of their inability to comprehend correctly and deeply, as they have become adults and the circumstances of life require that they do not stay away from participating in making decisions.
Third: Giving them responsibilities: Young people must bear some responsibilities, and they must be asked to perform them in the best possible way. From the beginning, they must be accustomed to carrying out their duties at home, school, workplaces, or in social activities, so that they can prove their competence in a practical way, and then be proud of these abilities.
Fourth: Limited freedom: The restrictions imposed on young people must be eased, because they have reached an age that requires more freedom, within the limits of need and to the extent of it. The young person must also contribute to determining freedom based on his conscience, the perceptions of his mind, and the extent of his faith and the strength of his belief. He must also be given freedom that is equal to his responsibility, and he must solve his problems himself.
Fifth: Caring for appearances: We must teach young people to care about their appearance, especially with regard to cleanliness, clothing, using the toothpick, combing hair, and using perfume. This has been established as part of the daily program of the Muslim person.
